Located in the heart of downtown, Laconia Housing Authority (LHA) is an organization that provides subsidized housing opportunities utilizing federal government programs at properties owned/managed by LHA (Sunrise Towers, Blueberry Place, Orchard Hill II and Northfield Village) and through partnerships (Tavern Inn/Stafford House and Normandin Square) and by the administration of Housing Choice Vouchers (formerly Section 8).

At select properties, LHA provides direct support services (meals, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, personal care) enabling tenants to remain in their homes even if a little assistance is needed.

LHA also serves our community through various outreaches, such as the United Way, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army, and the Turkey Plunge (which benefits the Salvation Army/Carey House; homeless shelter).

Please take a few minutes to explore our website and discover why Laconia Housing Authority is a valuable part of our community, and how you can get involved as a tenant or volunteer!

Introduction to LHA

Supportive Services

"I would like to take this opportunity to write about the special relationship between the Laconia Police Department and the Laconia Housing Authority.

The relationship is not only with the staff of the Housing Authority but also extends to the residents. We currently have a substation set up on one of the properties where officers are able to do paperwork, make follow up phone calls and most importantly, interact with the residents at the complex. On other units within the city, our officers are encouraged to PWT (Park, Walk and Talk) within the confines of the property to get to know the residents and listen to any concerns, if any, they may have.

The interaction has forged a great association between residents and police. My office is also always open for not only the residents but also members of the community. We certainly look forward to many more years of this professional affiliation."

- Laconia Chief of Police, Mike Moyer
